Note (Additional information about the record)
- A note on the guard suggests that the petition dates to the reign of Richard II, but the handwriting would seem to favour a later date, and thus probably the reign of Henry VI. The reference to Candlemas in the king's 16th year might therefore indicate a date some time after 2 February 1438.
