The petitioners request that they be granted the reversion of all lands held for life by Audeley which ought to revert to the king on Audeley's death.
Nature of endorsement
[on face] The king has granted this by testimony of the signet.[on dorse] To the Bishop of St David's, our chancellor.
Places mentioned
Warwick, [Warwickshire]
Heighley, [Staffordshire].
People mentioned
James de Audeley (Audley) of Heighley
[Adam Houghton], Bishop of St David's.
Note
The requested grant was made on 13 May 1377 (CPR 1374-7 p.463). John Freton and Robert Broun were often used by Alice Perrers as her feoffees (see SC 8/44/2188, SC 8/148/7363, E 210/10019, CPR 1377-81 p.343), and it therefore seems likely that she is behind this petition.
