Letter from the petitioners, burgesses formerly staying in Newcastle, dated at Newcastle upon Tyne on 10 June 1320, stating that Alan Scot, who has been imprisoned in Bordeaux on suspicion of assisting in the betrayal of Berwick, is innocent of all charges and was always loyal to the king. They ask that the king ordain remedy and release him.
