Nature of request
The petitioners state that Walgrave and Bacon successfully sued an assize of novel disseisin against Hangeford regarding property in Devon, following which Hangeford sued Sechevyll, Shute, Sondon and Shelverdon, members of the jury, for perjury. They were found guilty, forfeited goods worth £13 5s 4d, and find £8. On account of their expenses and costs in the king's service, the petitioners request that they be granted this £21 5s 4d.
