Nature of request
The petitioners request that the king summon Holgill before him and take sufficient surety that he will keep the peace towards them. They state that he has built a weir in the Thames which now prevents boats from travelling along the river, and stops fish from passing, to their great loss, and has also made a route for his horses through their meadow. He also came to Kew, attacked Lydgold, and sought to kill Lydgold and Maykyn.
