Note (Additional information about the record)
- Dated on the guard to? 1398-9, but no clear evidence cited. The few known details of Cawode's career (Emden, 'Biographical Register of the University of Oxford to A.D.1500', I, p. 375) show that he was appointed to an office at Oxford in 1393, and to an office in Newcastle in 1397, the same year as he received permissions to travel to Rome. Given the handwriting, it therefore seems possible that this petition also dates to c. 1397.
