Reference
SC 8/184/9186
Date
[1446]
Description
Petitioners
Provost and Scholars of King's College, Cambridge.
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
The petitioners request that the king grant letters patent according to the tenor of the attached schedule.
Nature of endorsement
[None]
Places mentioned
[Cambridge, Cambridgeshire].
Note
Apparently this petition was formerly enclosed (presumably with the schedule) in the chancery warrant at C 81/1438/20, dated 7 February 1446. This in turn appears to correspond with the enrolment at CPR 1441-6, p.409, a grant of an acre of land in Ringwood, Hampshire, and the advowson of the church, to the provost and scholars of the college of St Mary and St Nicholas (i.e. King's College) Cambridge. Thus presumably this petition was also presented by the provost and scholars.
