Nature of request
John and Alice de Covenham request an enquiry into their claim to a messuage in Grimsby. This messuage, originally held by John de Bentlay, was seized by Haliday following the death of John's son, William, and is now in the king's hands following Haliday's outlawry for treason. However, the property should have passed to Alice, as granddaughter of John de Bentlay, and they therefore seek restoration.
