Nature of request
Roger Cheyne requests pardon for all trespasses committed by him, his mother and the king's mother and father in connection with his inheritance. Following his father's death in August 1375, parts of his father's property were claimed during his minority by the king's father and mother, as parcels of the honour of Wallingford, and other lands were claimed by John and Margery Huys, who demised them, and his custody, to his mother, who held the remainder of his father's estates in dower. On his majority, he then entered two-thirds of those estates without suing out livery or any writ being issued, and requests pardon for this, for marrying without licence, and for all four of them for receiving the rents during the minority.
