- The Commons request remedy, stating that villeins are escaping from their lords by fleeing to other counties or cities and bringing suits in those places to establish their rights, to the great damage and disinheritance of the lords and others.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- From the handwriting and its appearance in this file, this petition appears to date from the last quarter of the fourteenth century. The problem of fugitive villeins appears to have been a common one during this reign, and a number of common petitions on this matter appear on the parliament rolls from this time. However, this petition cannot be linked conclusively with any of the enrolled responses. Rot. Parl. III, p.212 no.27 is a response to a similar petition, but probably not this one.
