Nature of request
John Angold of Chesterton states that, at the queen's request, the Prior of Barnwell granted the ferry at Chesterton to him for life. However, some men of Cambridge, claiming that the ferry appertained to them, have disturbed his possession and stolen his boat. He requests letters under the privy seal to the mayor and commonalty of Cambridge, demanding that they restore the boat to him and allow him to use the ferry, and that they certify any claims they may have to the chancery.
