Note (Additional information about the record)
- Dated on the guard to 1440-1 with reference to a related entry in 'Catalogue des Rolles Gascons', vol. II, p.304 (dated 6 July 1441), and a draft commission on this matter at C 81/1483/11. However, as the note on the repair states, the stitching on that document does not match the prominent sewing holes on this petition, although the two clearly refer to the same events, a dispute between Robessart and the Earl of Dorset over lands in France. The commission is directed to Vulre and John Pattesley, Mayor of London (1440-1), and presumably Pattesley is the mayor to whom Robessart requires the letters to be addressed.
