Kingston upon Hull, [East Riding of Yorkshire]
Sutton on Hull, [East Riding of Yorkshire]
River Humber
Drypool, [East Riding of Yorkshire]
Barrow upon Humber, [Lincolnshire].
Nature of request
John de Sutton requests the release of 50s annual rent in Sutton on Hull, and common passage across the Humber from Drypool to Barrow upon Humber, as compensation for his losses during the construction by the king's father of a road through his lands, leading to the town of Hull.
Nature of endorsement
Sue before the king.
Note
Dated on the guard to c.1332, with reference to the inquisition into Sutton's complaints held in that year. However, this petition clearly refers to decisions taken by the king's father, and since the inquisition clearly shows that these things occurred during the reign of Edward I, the petition would thus appear to date to the reign of Edward II.
