- The grant concerned was made to Clynton on 15 September 1401, and was surrendered and cancelled on 8 January 1409 (CPR 1399-1401, p.540). A date in this period appears most likely, but the petition is damaged, and it is possible that arrears could still have been outstanding after the grant was surrendered.
