Nature of request
John de Bohun requests the arrest of various people. He states that, when the Bishop of Chichester suspended the chaplain of Midhurst, he was granted the keeping of the chapel. However, Baggele and his companions then occupied the chapel, and when Bohun went with the bailiffs to arrest them, they sounded the bells and assaulted him so badly that he was almost killed.

Dated on the guard to c. 1385, with reference to other occurrences of a man of this name from this period (CCR 1381-5, p.512; CPR 1381-5, p.551). Numerous generations of this family were called John, but the handwriting would seem consistent with this date.
