Nature of request
Richard de Westbury states that, on the morrow of Martinmas last, he made recovery before Bereford against William and Maud Wyne, and the sheriff was ordered to make delivery of half their lands and their chattels. However, the sheriff was prevented from making delivery by Felton, who has seized all the goods and lands into the king's hands. He therefore requests a further order to the sheriff ordering the delivery of the lands.

Bring the record into Chancery, and certify why and when the lands of William and Maud were taken into the king's hands, and then do what should be done according to the law.Coram Rege.

Note
Felton was keeper of Maud Wyne's lands of Hodnet and Moston, seized by the king following William Wyne's arrest during the 1322 rebellion. It would appear that Westbury's case became embroiled in this episode, the property being seized along with the rest of the Wynes' lands.
