Nature of request
The Master of the Templars states that, in the last parliament, the king issued orders that the tenth granted recently by the clergy in the archdiocese of York should not be collected from the churches of the Templars, and requests that similar orders be issued regarding the tenth recently granted at Ely by the clergy of Canterbury archdiocese.
Nature of endorsement
The Master should not be taxed contrary to his privileges in the archbishopric of York, and let them have a writ to the collectors of the tenth, and seek a writ to the Treasurer and barons of the Exchequer.They are to have such a writ to the Exchequer as he had to the collectors of the tenth.
