Nature of request
Greystoke and the others request that a writ be directed to the towns of Newcastle, Hull and Lynn to deliver the goods which they have which were taken by William de Hilton from a Scottish ship as this will assist in their deliverance from imprisonment. They and their men were taken by the earl of March as they came to Roxburgh castle because of the seizure of these goods.
Nature of endorsement
Let the archbishop of York, the earl of Northumberland, the baron of Greystoke, and others jointly receive the goods, and let a writ be made for their delivery by them or their deputies.

The petition dates to 1381-1382 as another petition by Greystoke on the same matter that must be a near contemporary is printed in Rot. Parl. amongst petitions ascribed the date 5 Richard II (Vol. III, p. 129b (no.12)).
