Nature of request
Grauntcourt requests that the king command by his letters to the seneschal of Gascony that he arrest on ships of Southampton coming to those parts until they pay Grauntcourt and his companions as the mayor and bailiffs of Southampton were previously commanded, and that they be granted damages for the time they resided awaiting payment. The mayor and bailiffs were commanded to pay Grauntcourt and his companions for their wages for retaining their ship from Isle of Man to Southampton but they have paid nothing.
