Nature of request
The men and tenants request that they be granted in specific words that they are able to have the chattels of felons, escheats, deodands and forfeitures within the limits of their manor or they will not be able to pay their farm. They were granted the farm of the manor by king John and have always enjoyed these liberties by general words in their charter, but now the Exchequer has disturbed them.
