Nature of request
The bishop requests a writ to the mayor and sheriffs of London that they not permit the imprisonment of chaplains and clerks who are members of Holy Church against the great charter, as the chaplains and pronotories were taken by force and arms from their house by the people of London to the Tun upon Cornhill and imprisoned there.
