[This petition is badly damaged, and a large section is now missing.]The petitioners request the restitution of wines taken from them by the officers of the Countess of Arundel and the Archbishop of Canterbury when they landed in Sussex.
Nature of endorsement
On 19 February in the eighth year it was agreed by the council that under the great seal let a writ of commission be made addressed to Lord Poynings and others to enquire of the goods and merchandises whereof the petition makes mention, and of whose hands they have come, and to make and ordain restitution to those to whom they pertain as reason demands, and that the commissioners make distinctly and openly certify under their seals to the council of what they done on this.
