Nature of request
The sergeants request that the bailiff of Jersey be commanded to pay their wages which are in arrears, and they have maintained themselves at their own expense. They requested assistance from Cobham before and after the destruction but he answered that the castle was well guarded, and claimed to have no money to pay them despite receiving money from the king and the money from the goods of those that fled to Normandy.
