The Segraves and Mountagus request that it be commanded that right be done to them as they will be disinherited from the manor of Hamstead Marshal that earl Thomas, by licence of the king, leased to William Mountagu for his life, and which was taken into the king's hand following his death. The petitioners have sued to the council for the manor but they are delayed to their disinheritance.
Nature of endorsement
This business has been shown in Chancery and before the council in parliament many times and nothing has been shown by which the king should remove his hand; it is agreed by the council that the manor remain in the king's hand until other things be shown for their right. And if anything is found for their right, it seems to the council that the record and process made in Chancery and before the council should be brought before the council in parliament, and this and the other things that they have of new be viewed and examined, and the steward of the Chamber, and the sergeants of the King should be called, and justice should be be done to them.
