Nature of request
The merchants request the king's letters to the steward of Boston that they be delivered of their bodies and chattels until a certain day contained in the letters, and that right be done to them in your presence, they finding surety. They also request the king's protection until the day. The merchants came to Boston but lost their wine through no fault of their own, and were attached by the bailiffs there.
