[The petition is badly damaged and the sense is difficult to recover].The abbot and convent request a writ to the bishop of Lincoln to enquire if their portions in the churches of . . . extend to the fourth part or not, and if he finds that it does not extend to that he determine the . . . right and form of the Church so that for default of remedy, their house is not . . . of their free chapel. They were given the tithes of the churches by . . . to sustain a chantry in their free chapel but the people of Ducklington and Thornton have tried to remove them, and they were disturbed by a writ of indicavit.
