Nature of request
Brounflete requests the king's letters under the signet seal to the chief justice of common pleas to surcease the plea brought against him by Halgate and Barton for lands and tenements in Brompton and allow him to remain in his present estate as he is in the king's service. Barton and Halgate had brought a plea against Brounflete's brother which was delayed by his protection while he was in the king's service, and Brounflete entered the lands and tenements on his brother's death in the king's service, and now he is impleaded but will not have justice as he is in the king's service.
