Nature of request
Bourne requests the grant of vill of Hadden which belonged to the traitor Bernard de Hauden who betrayed the castle of Nisbet. Bourne was taken by the Scots during the time of truce and could not escape without a ransom, and he was granted by the king all of the things that pertained to the king in Roxburgh that amounted to £20, but these were wasted.1)
Nature of endorsement
Concerning the petition someone will speak to the king that it might be ordained that Bourne's son be one of the king's scholars at Cambridge.2) Concerning the lands of Hadden let the chancellor of Berwick be ordered to certify the king of the lands and their value so that the king can say his will.
