Aucher requests that he may be able to enclose in his park a pasture enclosed with a ditch and ash hedge containing 20 acres of his land, which pasture is in the forest of Waltham.1)

He should explain who the soil belongs to.2) Aucher holds the soil of the abbot of Waltham.3) Let there be an inquisition by lawful men and not subject to suspicion by the justice of the Forest.4) Coram rege.

The petition dates to 1290 as a Latin summary of the petition was enrolled on the parliament roll from Easter 1290 (PROME, roll 02, Introduction). The licence for the enclosure was only granted in June 1293 (CPR 1292-1301, p.19).
