[Petition in 7 parts divided between the face and dorse of the petition].1) The archbishop requests that the king grant him acquittance from 'seminatores' or 'seminati' in his diocese in the time of his father.2) The archbishop requests that a suit between him and the earl of Warwick be determined, or that he might be able to have the rights of his church held by his predecessors.3) The archbishop requests the king's confirmation of the assignment of the church of Reculver made to the hospital of Harbledown.4) The archbishop requests that the patronage of the canons of Bilsington should be determined by the king's council so that the house that has been begun is not destroyed.5) The archbishop requests that the matter be determined concerning the canons of Hastings and Ospringe where the archbishops and bishops used to visit since there is a danger to the souls of those of the parishes without a visitation.6) The archbishop requests that he can have return of writs in Middlesex free just as in other places as no profit accrues to the king or Londoners.7) The archbishop petitions for council concerning Castle Baynard and of the distraint of Lord Nicholas Meinil.

Note
The petition can be quite closely dated to 1273-1278 based on the third request for the king's confirmation of the assignment of Reculver church to the hospital of Harbledown. It is clear that this is a confirmation of the grant by the bishop, which a later inspeximus and confirmation of 1290 notes as being made by Robert, predecessor of John Pecham, and this can only be Robert Kilwardby whose pontificate was from 1273-1278 (CPR 1281-92, p.410).
