- [The petition is badly damaged, and is missing a portion from its right-hand half]. Somerville requests restoration of his damages that he has suffered in Northumberland by the Scots who came to his manor of Witton and other of his lands and burnt his houses and destroyed his corn so that he was only left with the land.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition is dated to? 1314-? 1325 as the contents concerning the destruction wrought by the Scots in Northumberland seems most appropriate to this period. The guard notes tentatively suggest 1336 based on a patent roll reference that concerns the petitioner and much of the land referred to in the petition, but this does not seem to relate to the petition, and seems too late (CPR 1334-8, p.230).
