Nature of request
Ry requests that the chancellor be commanded that writs be made to the dean and chapter of Lincoln forbidding them to sue for the annuity that they claim from the church of Gosberton, of which he is patron, in court christian, but that they should rather sue in the king's court according to the law of the land. The church is assessed at 80 marks, and the dean and chapter claim an annuity of 40 marks and have brought a plea in the court of Rome to the king's disinheritance.
