[Petition in 4 parts].1) The abbot requests that no writ of caution be granted at the request of the archbishop of Canterbury on his bailiff or his people since the case is called in the court of Rome.2) The abbot requests letters patent allowing him to make attorneys by his letters.3) The abbot states that he or his ministers have had the right to collect amercements made on his tenants before the justices or other royal ministers from time out of mind and this has been allowed by the barons of the Exchequer, and asks that by reason of non allowance this right might not be in danger from the sheriff or sergeants, which is not to the king's profit.4) The abbot requests that the king will grant by his charter that he might have, hold and use the liberties granted to him by the charters of his ancestors.
