[Petition in 2 parts].1) Clare requests the keeping of the castles and two thirds of the lands of his kinsman, the earl of Gloucester, in Ireland after the countess has received her dower, paying the extent at the Exchequer of Dublin.2) Clare requests that he might be able to have the custody of the castle of Limerick and of the farm of the adjoining fish weirs.
Nature of endorsement
[On face].1) Let it be ordered by writ of Chancery to the justice of Ireland or his lieutenant, and to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer of Dublin that they receive from Clare sufficient surety, and give him the castles and two parts of the land after the countess has received her dower, holding the same at the king's will for the extent.2) Let it be ordered to the justice of Ireland Ireland or his lieutenant, and to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer of Dublin that they certify the king if it is to his damage or prejudice.[On dorse, none].
