Description
Petitioners
Commonalty of the land . . .
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
[The petition is badly damaged and partially illegible, and the sense is now difficult to recover. The petitioners seem to be complaining of the stopping of a river and refer to a 'fosse' and the passage of goods].
Nature of endorsement
[None].
People mentioned
Edmund [Deincourt].
Note
The petition has been dated to? 1316 on the basis of a possibly related entry in the patent rolls (CPR 1313-17, p.430). The guard suggests that the dating could be later, though the basis of the possibility of 1327 is not supported.
