Commonalty of South Wales.

Nature of request
The commonalty request that the two commotes of Is Cennen and Deuddwr that have escheated to the king be kept in the king's hand, and are not dismembered, or leased to strangers, as this will be to the diminution of the king's profit.1)
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.2) It does not please the king to do what is requested, but let it be ordered to the justice and the chamberlain to do what is to the king's profit.

Note
The petition is dated to c. 1331 on the basis of Rees' dating. Rees thought that the petition dated to after the forfeiture of Roger de Mortimer in 1330, and must predate the restoration of the commotes to Mortimer's heir in 1331 (Petitions Relating to Wales::p.292).
