Nature of request
[Membrane containing five separate petitions with four different petitioners].1) Lesparre requests the grant of a warrant so that he can distrain noble and non-noble subjects of his barony to contribute to the enclosure of Lesparre, and that he is able to levy 12d on all sales and 6d. on all purchases in his barony until the enclosure is complete, as Lesparre is on the frontier with the enemy.2) Lesparre requests payment of the wages for him and his men for their service to the king in the war and for corn taken from him, or that an assignment is made to him where his able to be paid.3) Pressac requests a grant of his father's lands that he held at the time that he was supposed a rebel, Pressac always being of the king's and king's father's obedience.4) Auge requests a grant of the lands of Puncet de Salet, a rebel of the king, as he has lost all that he had in the king's service at Bourg, and has nothing to maintain his estate or life.5) Poy requests that the constable of Bordeaux be ordered to account with him for the wages that are in arrears for his service to the king in the Gascon war, and to pay what is found to be in arrears, or to make an assignment in a place where he can be paid.
Nature of endorsement
[On face].1) It pleases the king that the lord has reasonable paiage on his people for . . . years in aid of the enclosure and the seneschal is to make letters under the seal of Gascony to the lord.2) It is ordered to the constable to pay him for the prest and the wages from the issues of the duchy or from money sent to him.3) Let it be ordered to the seneschal that if he finds that the petitioner has given loyal service to the king, then he should give him the lands or part of the lands of his father to be held at the king's will.4) Let the seneschal be written to to inform the king of the value, manner and service of the lands that are demanded.5) Let the constable be written to in the manner as before.[On dorse, none].
