Petitioners
Knights, sergeants and others of the commons who have their lands, woods and common pastures both within and without the king's chase of Leicester.
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
The petitioners request a writ of the great seal or targe to Squire that he will allow them to enjoy without disturbance their common pasture in the chase, to take housebote and haybote and nuts in their woods, to make amends of trespasses done in their woods, and to have their pigs for them and their men quit of pannage as their ancestors had.
Nature of endorsement
Let the truth of this be enquired of by certain justices assigned in Chancery, and when the inquisition has been returned let justice be done.
