Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition is dated to c. 1316 as the petition refers to the wax being taken from the petitioner in 8 Edw. II (1314), and to William Melton being the former keeper of the Wardrobe, he ceasing to hold that office in February 1316. The petition is unlikely to be later than 1322 as the response is in Latin, French being the norm thereafter.
