Nature of request
Fitz John requests remedy as she was granted the manor of Harescombe by her late husband with his father's assent at their espousal, but it has now come into the king's hand by grant of Fitz John and Fitz Reginald, and she has been out of her dower for 6 years.
Nature of endorsement
She should show what he has of the assignment in Chancery, and let it be shown to the people who come who are assigned of to enquire if she be dowered as the bill purport. And let it be ordered to the treasurer and chamberlains that they certify of the tenor of the charter, and of to search if the petitioner has released or quitclaimed her rights, and let it be enquired of if the heir has any right by descent, and when the inquisition is returned into Chancery, let the chancellor certify the king.
