[The petition is badly damaged and the full sense is difficult to recover].Fitz John requests [remedy as he has been ousted from the manor of Ashley] of which he was enfeoffed with his wife to be held for their lives and with remainder to his heirs of his body begotten. Despenser by his lordship by many grievances and indictments [imprisoned] the petitioner.

Note
The petition is damaged in a very similar way to SC 8/172/8572 so that the two may be contemporary and from the same bundle, and this petition probably dates to 1327 as a patent roll entry appears to be a slightly later point in the same process, though this is difficult to be certain of because of the damage that the petition has suffered (CCR 1327-30, p.345).
