[The petition is badly damaged and much of the detail is derived from the related memoranda rolls volume].Swancton [and the other executors request allowance in their account of the late archbishop's debts for certain goods that have been shown to have accrued to the king's profit] including horses taken by Abel and found on the manor of Otford and given by him by the king's command to Ceve to be led to Windsor.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that they enquire of these goods, and when the inquisition is returned into the Exchequer they are to make allowance to the executors in the debts due by them to the king.

Although Archbishop Winchelsea died in 1313, and much of what is referred to in the petition relates to the years immediately after his death, the petition dates to 1313 as allowance was made to the co-executors on 5 February 1327 (Cal. Mem. Rolls 1326-7, p.57).
