Nature of request
The merchants request remedy and that they can have a charter of tin so that they can make their dyes as before. They used to buy tin in Devon and pay the king his coinage, customs and other dues, but now the dye makers of London have come with a charter of the king from his first year preventing them of making their dyes from pure metal and have taken their dyes from all markets and destroyed them.
