Nature of request
Ferre requests remedy as she holds the manor of Benhall by purchase by her late husband, and the reversion pertains to the earl of Cornwall, and with this manor pertains the patronage of the priory of Butley with rights concerning the keeping of the priory during vacancy, and to the election of priors which have been ignored. The canon chosen to be prior should be presented to her, and she should send to the bishop to receive the prior but she has been bypassed by Pakenham and held out of the priory by him and others. She cannot have a writ of quare impedit against Pakenham naming him prior as the priory is vacant, and she cannot have a writ against men of religion without the name of the lord who is to be maintained.
