Nature of request
The abbot and convent request allowance in the debt that they owe to the king from the last tenth in which the abbot was collector against the sum owed to them for grain taken for the use of the king' castle at Barnard Castle by Castre and Druel.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer by writ of Chancery that when they have viewed the account of Castre and Druel of the issue of the castle and the victuals there, if they find that they were answered to the king, they should make allowance to the abbot for the value of the corn.
