[Petition in 7 parts].1) Bernard requests satisfaction or suitable amends, as he has been banished from the realm of France by the peace accord made between the king and the king of France and was granted certain wages during the banishment assigned from the provost of Dax, and the bailiwicks of Labourd, Gosse, Seignanx and Pouillon, but he has been ousted.2) Bernard requests that the constable of Bordeaux be commanded to pay him his wages without delay, he often having the king's letters on this.3) Bernard requests that the constable of Bordeaux be commanded to take advisement of the value of the land assigned to him by the king's father to pay his wages, which land was assigned from those of Hugas that were in the hand of the king by forfeiture, and if they are found to be in default of the value granted that a suitable assignment be made of the default.4) Guillaume Arnaud requests that the king's proctors in the duchy will take the plea of Hugas and the king of France's ministers concerning the land that Hugas forfeited but entrusted into the hand of the king of France.5) Guillaume Arnaud requests that the constable of Bordeaux be ordered to pay the sums due to him without delay for his wages for when he was in the king's service. He requests that he be assigned by letters patent the sums upon the pains 'de encourement' that Hugas incurred for breaking out of the king's prison where he and his companions were taken for the deaths of two lords.6) Guillaume Arnaud requests that the seneschal of Gascony be ordered to deliver the charters and muniments of the pain and 'encourement' to him to demand and sue execution of the same.7) Guillaume Arnaud requests that the seneschal of Gascony make execution on Hugas and his companions for the judgment rendered upon him, and execution upon their receivers.1)
Nature of endorsement
To the first the seneschal and constable are to inform themselves of the matter then they are to make payment of the issues as quickly as possible.2) Let the constable be written to in good and suitable form.3) The seneschal and constable are to inform themselves of the things contained in the petition and inform themselves of the true value of the land and certify the king.4) Let a transcript of the petition be sent to the seneschal and constable, and they do what is to the profit and defence of the right of the king.5) Let the seneschal and constable do what is to the discharge of the king towards the petitioner, and certify the king what they have done.6) The petition should wait until the king is certified on the above.7) Let the seneschal be ordered to make execution according to the manner and the usages of the country, and that they do for the profit knowing the rights and the customs.

The petition probably dates to 1332 as entries on the Gascon roll for that year dating to August appear to be in response to most of the requests on this petition (C 61/44 mm.5 & 6).
