Nature of request
Bole requests that a sergeant at arms be commanded to arrest atte Well and the other malefactors with their maintainers, atte Chaumbre and his son to answer for the villainy done to the earl of Derby, and the extortions and trespass done to him, and that he be put in possession of his land in Lillingstone Lovell. The land descended to him but because of this atte Well and others came and took him and imprisoned him in the sixth year of the king's reign and held him until the following Easter, and after his delivery, and he obtained letters of the earl to the steward to enquire of this whereupon atte Well and other came to his close and beat him.

Let it be ordered by writ to the sheriff of Oxford that he enquire of the matter and certify the chancellor so that he can inform the council.
