Nature of request
The abbot requests a writ to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer to discharge them of the arrears from the tenths granted to the king's father by the clergy of England, and of tenths taken by the court of Rome, of which the [abbot and his] predecessors have been collectors, as many of the benefices and temporalities on which it was assessed have been destroyed by the Scots and the arrears cannot be collected.

He should have a writ to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that they advise themselves of the benefices and temporalities that are distrained and discharge the abbot and charge the costs of the debtors according to the parcels.
