Crede requests that Ellis, and Nynne, Matras and the others be made to come before the king to be examined for the evil acts done, and that the malefactors and trespassers be punished and make sufficient surety to in accordance with their trespass, and that he be able to have his church and serve and govern it as he is bound to do. The malefactors came and assaulted him and imprisoned him and his servant.

The petition is dated to? 1422-? 1429 as the duke of Gloucester acted as regent during the duke of Bedford's absence in the minority of Henry VI (Handbook of British Chronology, p.41). It is just possible that the petition is slightly earlier as the duke of Gloucester acted as regent for Henry V in 1421-2 as well.
