- The petitioners request that their goods, tallies and horses be rendered to them or their true value as they came to England to sell their goods and merchandise following a proclamation that foreign merchants could come safely to sell in England, but when they came to Southampton their goods were arrested by Vaux and are still detained.

- Let it be ordered by writ of Chancery containing the effect of this petition to sheriffs and bailiffs where the goods are arrested that if they are able to find that the merchants came by surety of the proclamation and that the goods were arrested after the proclamation then they should make delivery of the goods.

- The petition dates to 1327 as the mayor and bailiffs were ordered to deliver the goods to the petitioners if they were seized after the making of the proclamation (CCR 1327-30, p.49). The names of some of the petitioners are now illegible, but can be supplied from the resultant close roll entry.
